welcome to
Blues Revue
August/September 2004

California singer Peach has impressive connections: Taj Mahal duets, and Garth Hudson (the Band), Lee Thornburg (Tower of Power), drummer James Gadson, keyboardist Marty Grebb (Bonnie Raitt), and percussionist Jack Ashford play on her new disc, as do guitarists Amos Garrett, Paul Barrere (Little Feat), and Rick Vito (Fleetwood Mac). The Real Thing (Blues Rock 788) offers contemporary songs by Peach and company, as well as an upbeat "Come Up and See Me Sometime," a brassy "Someone Else Is Steppin' In," and beautiful ballads such as Bobby Charles' "I Must Be in a Good Place Now" and Grebb and Jerry Lynn Williams' "Beyond My Wildest Dream." The dreamy mood suits Peach's relaxed, romantic delivery.
